Keeping you up to date with all the cat action on the streets of Old Town Paphos.

Gaynor Is Back In Action

G Out

After hip replacement surgery and recovering from the dreaded COVID, Gaynor is back out on the streets of Old Town Paphos visiting the stops and saying hello to some old, furry friends.

She eased herself back into the daily run by going out on the route with some of the volunteers. She is now doing the feeding at some of the stops and getting back into the swing of things. Of course, the volunteers will still be on hand to assist should they be needed.

Thank you for all the well wishes and kind words received over the past few weeks. Gaynor appreciates them all.

The TNR activities were paused for September as the team members were out of the country.

We plan on getting the last few remaining cats and new kittens neutered in October. We have to wait for the kittens to be robust enough to be able to withstand the surgery. This is usually between 2 and 4 months old and weigh at least 2Kg.

Medical Emergencies

September presented with only 1 medical emergency. Zena from the Mosque stop is currently receiving treatment for a serious eye infection at the vets and will go into temporary foster care next week to fully recover.

Sadly, we said goodbye to Grandma from the apartment stop. She was a lovely old girl and we believe she passed from natural causes and old age.

Spotlight on Adoption

We are so pleased to report that the Paphos Cat Lady team had their first international adoption in September.

Chico from the Mayfair stop has found his furever home in the UK. His new humans now call him Cheeky Chico as he’s into everything and always up to something! They reported he has settled in to his new home really well and has completely stolen their hearts.

We would like to thank this lovely family for opening their hearts and homes to a street cat from Paphos. He is one lucky kitty!

If you would like to adopt a Paphos Cat Lady street cat, we have numerous fur babies all looking for their furever homes. Get in touch via Facebook Messenger for more information.

Volunteers Needed

The Paphos Cat Lady team is looking for volunteers. There is a small but dedicated team of people who support her behind the scenes. There are those running the social media accounts or the website, cat catchers for TNR or vet visits, temporary foster carers and a support network both in Cyprus and the UK. Not forgetting the extended team of professionals who support by supplying food, medical care and advice for the cats.

That being said, we are in desperate need of volunteers to help with the feeding run out on the streets with Gaynor and temporary foster carers. If you think you could help, please contact us through Facebook.

Thank You

We would like to thank the whole team at Petzstuff for their continued and unwavering support in the feeding of and caring for the street cats. In addition, the team at Pet & Vet for their excellent medical care and advice and Luanne from Fishing for Felines for her continued support in catching the more elusive feral cats. As always, a big thank you to Christine and her team at Paphiakos Animal Clinic for the amazing medical care they provide as well as Dawn and her team at Tala Cat Park for their support of the PCL. Thanks also go to Dr Stylianou at Styl Vet Clinic for his work in the TNR programme and to Kelly’s Kittys and K9s for working on potential UK adoptions. We would also like to extend a huge thank you this month to Annie’s Animal Ark for successfully executing an international adoption for one of our street cats. It is a long, complicated task and we are very grateful to Annie for organising everything so efficiently and thoughtfully for all involved. As always a huge thank you to those who have generously donated this month.
